Becoming a freelance recruiter has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. And if you’ve found your way here, I’m guessing you’re either on a similar path or thinking about it.

My journey into recruitment started more than 25 years ago when I was managing a restaurant for one of the big chains. I liked my job, but I started asking myself some big questions. Is this really what I want for my future? The more I thought about it, the more I realized that the parts of my job I enjoyed most were the HR-related tasks, hiring, training, and building a great team. That realization led me to go back to school for HR management.

Once I got into HR, it didn’t take long to figure out that recruitment was where I truly thrived. After working as an in-house recruiter for a while, I decided to fully dive into the recruitment industry. Over the next 19 years, I worked as a recruitment consultant, first as an employee, then as the owner of my own agency.

I loved running my agency and working with an amazing team, but it was a huge time commitment. With a young family at home, I started rethinking what I wanted my work-life balance to look like. Eventually, I made the tough decision to close my agency and transition to working from home as a freelance recruiter. That was six years ago, and I can honestly say it was the best career move I have ever made.

Now, as my kids are growing up and don’t need me as much, I finally have the time to launch something I’ve been dreaming about for years, Freelance Recruiter Hub.
